From the Farming Archive 2026:

Well the Time has come to say goodbye

Written by That Wandering Farmer

Well the time has come to say goodbye to my little life in Herfordshire. It was never supposed to last long, but getting the chance to work in and around the setup of Groundswell Agriculture over the last 10 weeks has been nothing short of a dream.

To think that when I volunteered at the festival over 2 years ago, I never imagined I’d one day be working with the farms that make it all happen. The practices, the knowledge – truly groundbreaking, (in the no-dig sense) – and an incredible opportunity for someone so early in their career.

From finally meeting @thecalfatfootdairy and seeing the progress in bringing raw milk back to the public, which is now live, to learning alongside you these past couple of months – thankyou.

Being a small part of @irongate.farm and supporting Taylor in getting the market garden off the ground has been amazing to watch. I can’t wait to come back later this year and see everything that has flourished – and maybe pick some of that kale I sowed..

And to Mr John Cherry and the team – thank you for the opportunity, the conversations and the morning walks to check and feed the cows. It’s shaped not just what I know, but how I carry myself. I’ve loved every minute of it and I’m truly sad to be leaving.

But for now, a new adventure awaits…

So what’s next?

“White shores and beyond. A far green country under a swift sunrise.”

Doesn’t sound too bad does it?

Scotland Awaits.
